Kunliulong DC project

Kunliulong DC project, the world's first ultra-high-voltage (UHV) multi-terminal flexible DC transmission project, was officially put into operation in December 2020. This project increased the power transmission capacity to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by eight million kilowatts, ensuring stable reception of clean energy from Yunnan province. Setting 19 world-first records and achieving 100 percent self-reliance in major equipment, the project significantly enhanced innovation capabilities of enterprises in the energy and power industry chain. It played a crucial role in implementing the west to east power transmission, ensuring energy and power security, driving independent innovation in energy technology and equipment, and promoting industrial development.

Nankun

In November 2023, CSG's "Nankun," the world's first megawatt-scale floating wave energy generation device, was connected to the grid and put into operation. This milestone marked a new stage in China's megawatt-scale wave energy generation technology, advancing to deep-sea demonstration applications. "Nankun" boasts world-leading performance in installed capacity, power generation, and resilience to extreme sea conditions. It will support China's vigorous development of deep-sea aquaculture, marine observation, seawater hydrogen production, and other blue economy initiatives. As a large floating power bank at sea, "Nankun" can supply the daily electricity needs of up to 3,500 households.

Power HarmonyOS

In October 2023, CSG and the OpenAtom Foundation unveiled Power HarmonyOS, China's first electric power IoT operating system. This system features plug-and-play capabilities and major data linkage, making it the first to support various types and brands of equipment. Power HarmonyOS significantly enhances the efficiency of power equipment access and operation, serving as a digital, autonomous, and controllable operating system for the future large-scale deployment and maintenance of IoT equipment in the new electric power system.

Big Watt

"Big Watt" is CSG's first independently controllable large-scale power model in the industry. Built on independently developed computing chips and learning frameworks, it has been trained from scratch, showcasing powerful autonomous control capabilities. "Big Watt" can easily handle functions such as chat, information search, graphic recognition, and composition. By interacting with "Big Watt," power users can quickly obtain the necessary power-related information and solutions. CSG deeply integrates electric power with computing power, actively embracing artificial intelligence development to support the sensory and controllable aspects of the new electric power system.

Jimu sensors

For digital grids, sensors function like the nerve endings of the human body, constantly perceiving and generating various measurement data, serving as crucial foundational components for the digitization of physical power grids. "Jimu" intelligent sensor is the world's first set of non-intrusive chip-based micro-power sensors. It breaks through the core technologies of wideband wide-range magnetic field or current and electric field or voltage non-intrusive measurement, as well as self-powered wireless communication. This innovation bridges the gap from sensor technology principles to industrial applications. Since 2018, multiple "Jimu" sensors have been deployed, empowering the development of digital grids, with nearly 200,000 sets sold and applied over the past three years.

Flexible DC Wall Bushing

In June 2021, China's first autonomous-control ±800 kV flexible DC wall bushing was put into operation. As a key component in UHV projects, the flexible DC wall bushing serves as the sole channel between the valve hall of the ultra-high voltage converter station and the DC field, acting as the "throat" of the DC transmission system. It bears ultra-high voltage and large currents, providing conduction, insulation, and mechanical support. The successful operation of this equipment signifies a technological breakthrough for China in the field of UHV flexible DC wall bushings. It enhances the country's autonomous controllability in the main network for the west-to-east power transmission program, marking a significant milestone in large-scale and high-end power equipment. This achievement plays an important role in driving domestic industrial technological upgrades and solving key technological challenges.

10 kV Three-Phase Coaxial High-Temperature AC Superconducting Cable

In September 2021, China's first independently developed superconducting cable was put into use in Shenzhen, Guangdong province. It's the world's first application of a superconducting cable in a megacity's core districts, signifying that China has comprehensively mastered the key core technologies of designing, manufacturing, and constructing new superconducting cables. The transmission capacity of superconducting cables far exceeds that of conventional cables. Specifically, its power transmission capacity surpasses that of a conventional 110 kV cable, with only one-fourth to one-fifth of the power loss, making it highly suitable for supplying power in high-load density areas.

Meizhou Baohu Energy Storage Power Station

In March 2023, CSG's Meizhou Baohu energy storage power station was officially put into operation in Wuhua county, Meizhou, Guangdong province. The energy storage power station has a capacity of 70 MW/140 MWh. Based on calculations of charging and discharging 1.75 times per day, it can generate nearly 81 million kWh per year, equivalent to the electricity needs of 3.5 million users during peak hours in a day, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 45,000 tons. Notably, it is the world's first immersed liquid cooling energy storage power station, marking the successful application of this cutting-edge technology in the field of new energy storage projects. This development actively promotes China's comprehensive energy security, stable supply, and green,  low-carbon growth.

High-speed Switch

The high-speed DC switch is an indispensable key component in multi-terminal hybrid DC transmission systems, enabling online control and fault isolation of segmented line circuits. Consisting of nearly a thousand components, this switch functions like a "three-way valve," flexibly and reliably controlling the power load flow. In November 2023, China's first independently controllable ±800 kV high-speed DC switch was connected to the grid and put into operation at the Liuzhou Converter Station of the Kunliulong DC project. Compared to conventional DC isolation switches, this newly operational high-speed DC switch requires only 21 milliseconds for a single actionnearly 1,000 times faster! It surpasses more than 10 key indicators, such as DC withstanding voltage and lightning surge, compared to similar foreign products, and has fostered 21 core patents based on this project. This operation marks a significant breakthrough in China's key technology for high-speed DC switches in ultra-high voltage transmission, further consolidating the country's core competitiveness in the field of DC transmission.
